Black Thought

One of my favorite freestyles is resonating a little more than usual today.  This took place at Harvard  a few years ago. The artist is Black Thought, frontman of The Roots.

My favorite part:

"Black as oblivion

Black as obsidion

Black as the sky at midnight ante meridian

Black as a portrait with Diddy, Tupac, and Biggie in

Black as the influence on the culture we livin' in

I survived the chitlin circuit, vaudvillainin

Managed to inspire the beatles and Bob Dyl' and'em

But did I miss the mark because i'm just as dark

as John Henry Clark's inner thoughts at the time of the Harlem Renaissance??"
