WeeBees at the Library: A Cure for the Curious

On August 3rd, I installed my library exhibit at the Meadows Library in Boulder, Colorado. It is a small display in the library’s entrance, housed in a two-sided case. This opportunity not only comes with a monthly stipend but will also be on view until October 24th of this year.

For this exhibit collection, I wanted to give context to my characters, the WeeBees. I also wanted to show how whimsical and artistic I can be, and I hope the pieces on display reflect that. Selling my original artwork has been much more challenging than selling prints, but I have managed to sell three or four originals a year. I know that if I keep pushing through marketing, attending art markets, and posting consistently, I can grow that number. Who knows, maybe the right collector or curious mind will walk into the library and feel compelled to take a piece home.

This narrow path I am on to pursue my art does not come with any guarantees. But omens like this opportunity reveal themselves and encourage me to keep going. I cannot think of a better way to color what might otherwise be a dull life.

In the display case, you will find two wooden die-cut art pieces, my “Doubt” print, an original illustration, two 18x24 paintings, and two circle-shaped canvas paintings.

I hope my work is well received and offers a bit of escapism for all the curious minds who choose to indulge, even if just for a few minutes.
